Bria Baptise

Bria Baptiste is  a senior majoring in sociology and minoring in business and liberal arts (BALA). Her  favorite part of FYE will be working with my peers to help them ease into their freshman year experience. Outside of FYE she works  with NYPIRG and I was a student leader for the environmental campaign. During her  free time she enjoys reading, film photography and TV shows.

Chloe Sweeney

Chloe Sweeney is a pre-med senior majoring in Biology and Neuroscience and minoring in Chemistry, Psychology, and Health Sciences. Chloe speaks from experience when she says she understands the worries and doubts that come with being a first-year student, so she looks forward to helping freshmen find their path at QC! When she’s not in class, you can find her writing for the The Knight News, working in her research lab on campus, or volunteering at her local hospital. She enjoys baking, watching Netflix, and bothering her cat, Luna, 24/7!

Saarah Ahsan

Saarah Ahsan majored in psychology and elementary education and was a part of the Freshman Honors Program. Saarah enjoys being a mentor supervisor because she is able to help freshmen adjust to college and directly assist them through her office hours. Saarah’s hobbies outside of campus include trips to the city, trying new food, and watching Netflix. Outside of Queens College, Saarah is an after school teacher.

Uzaiza Khan 

Uzaiza Khan is a junior majoring in secondary education English. She’s looking forward to meeting incoming students and helping them feel comfortable and supported during their transition to Queens College. Her hobbies are badminton, photography, and experimenting with cooking! Outside of Queens College, she is an Explainer at the New York Hall of Science.

Hi, my name is Amaya Summerville. I am currently a junior at Queens College majoring in English and minoring in dance and design. Anlisa Outar

Hi, I’m Anlisa Outar! This is my last year at Queens College where I’m an urban studies and political science double major and a studio art minor. My favorite part about being a Peer Mentor at FYE is seeing (or hearing) the relief students feel after we help them. In addition to being a Peer Mentor, I’m the Treasurer of the Pre-Law Association, a member of the Guyanese Student Association, and an intern at a law firm. My favorite activities include taking photos of my friends, trying new food, and enjoying nature!

Ashley Simons

My name is Ashley Simons and I am a senior who is majoring in both computer science and political science with a minor in Chinese language. I’m excited to be part of the FYE community so I can assist young scholars navigating through college and help students with their professional development. I have a special interest in helping students secure federal and local internship opportunities. When I lived in Washington, D.C., I completed three federal internships. I hope to elevate first-year students to a new level by providing academic guidance, helping them explore career opportunities, and by identifying current campus resources. I enjoy knitting, drinking tea, and listening to K-Pop. On weekends you can find me fishing at the beach with my family.

Atika Fariha

My name is Atika Fariha. I’m currently in my junior year, pursuing a major in accounting. I’m looking forward to meeting new students and truly being able to help them out so their transition to college becomes a little easier. I would love to be a mentor that students can come to whenever in need. For fun, I really enjoy going to karaoke bars, or picnics with friends. I also love watching movies and trying out new food.

My name is Brianna Sesson. I am a lower senior majoring in FNES and minoring in fashion and textiles while on the human development and family sciences track. My favorite part about being in FYE is encouraging and assisting newcomers to be more confident in college. I enjoy watching K-Drama, learning the Kalimba, and looking at memes.

Miss Prity Khatun

My name is Miss Prity Khatun. I am currently a senior majoring in computer science and minoring in mathematics. My favorite part of working for FYE is that I love helping younger generations, especially freshmen, because the transition from high school to college is difficult. I want to help students overcome the challenges I once faced. I am also a peer mentor for the Queens College HSI-STEM program in CS111 – Introduction to Algorithmic Problem Solving and a SEEK 2022 Generation Leader.

Rachel Ferguson

Greetings everyone! My name is Rachel Ferguson, I am a sophomore majoring in psychology with a legal studies minor. Welcome to Queens College! I am here to help you persevere as a Queens College Knight academically and socially. My name is Reveena Ramotar and I am a junior double majoring in psychology and human development and family science specialization while minoring in BALA. Sheyla Perez

My name is Sheyla Perez and I am a Latina and first-generation senior studying computer science. As part of FYE, I look forward to helping as many students succeed in college. I intern at Discord as a software engineer and NBCUniversal’s IT department. Outside of work and school, I like to paint, eat food, read Webtoon comics, and spending time with my family.

Sneha Sara Vinod

My name is Sneha Sara Vinod. I am a junior majoring in biology and neuroscience while on the Pre-PA track. I like to be a part of FYE because it is a space where I get to spend my time being with people who share more or less the same interests that I do. I love spending time knowing different people and helping them out in any way possible, and FYE is a perfect platform for that. It is also a place where I have learned many new things about my school and the various opportunities it provides. I would like to be a part of it as long as I can and help my fellow mates. Some of my hobbies are traveling, cooking, and singing. Apart from FYE, I work as a pharmacy tech at Salzman chemists, and I tutor children.

Stephanie Szpylka

My name is Stephanie Szpylka! I am a junior in the Scholars Program double majoring in applied mathematics and quantitative economics with a minor in computer science. As an FYE mentor, I am excited to help new students thrive through the discovery of what their community at Queens College has to offer. A few activities I am involved in on campus include being an intern at the Tech Incubator at Queens College, a club leader, a teaching assistant, and a member of an Academic Senate committee.
